Dog Training Tips
The A,B, C's of owning a dog are:
- A (Activities) - Provide age, size, breed appropriate activities for your dog to keep them exercised physically and mentally.
- B (Bonding) - Be the leader (guide) for your dog and have expectations for their behavior. That gives your dog a job and purpose. Instinctively they crave this.
- C (Communication) - Open the lines of communication between you and your dog. Learn how to teach your dog using "dog freindly" techniques and body language.
All dogs need socialization (Interaction)
- Puppies need early controlled exposure to different people, places, animals, and things before the age of 4 months.
- Adolescent dogs need repeated interaction with other dogs and people before the age of 1 year.
- Adult dogs need daily directions from you to feel acceptance and security.
